Q: What do Icelandic® and SeaStar® Brands do to insure food safety?
A: We rigorously regulate both brands according to the food safety rules laid down by the HACCP system. For years our processing plant in Cambridge, MD has a permanent USDC inspector on our premises by our invitation, one of the only fish processing plant in the U.S. to have set up this self-monitoring system. Every fish fillet is individually examined by hand for defects or bones. Our food safety standards are the highest standards in the industry.
